Week 29 Primetime Preview

Real Salt Lake v New York Red Bull
Let’s welcome Rio Tinto to the league. Tonight’s match features the seventh soccer specific stadium to open in the MLS. From pictures that you can see here, it’s an absolute beauty, and from what I’ve been hearing, perhaps a number of sell out crowds will be in store for an RSL team batting the Red Bulls in an attempt to secure a playoff spot. Real sits in better shape, third place in the West, and three points tonight would go a long way for them.

International absences will strike this week, and they hit the Red Bull by taking the likes of Gabe Cichero, Dane Richards, and Jorge Rojas, who will miss tonight’s game. Yura Movsisyan, Javier Morales, and Kyle Beckerman are three keys for Real, who must control things in the midfield. It’ll be up to Juan Pablo Angel and Dave Van Den Bergh to slow the Red Bull bleeding of their past two weeks. Tough to see them doing it on the road, in a new home for RSL, who will be looking to keep the success going. Tune into the Red Bull blog for some chatter during the match.
