Week 27 - Primetime Preview
By: travis | September 25th, 2008Chicago v Los Angeles
It’s Thursday already, and you know what that means. Thursday night soccer? Not a very catchy nickname. Either way, Beckham-mania (what’s that? People don’t care about him as much?) hits the Windy City, with Los Angeles taking on the Fire. With the playoff picture taking shape, the Galaxy now sit just two points out of the last spot.
Can Bruce Arena generate enough momentum to get the Galaxy in the playoff? If Landon Donovan can score a hat trick each game, then they’ll be in good shape. Tonight’s match up against the Fire could be a blessing for the Galaxy, as Chicago’s offensive struggles are well documented. Along with that, they’ve been unable to shut anyone down, conceding four against Dallas last weekend. Jon Busch has been hung out to dry on a number of occasions, and Cuauhtemoc Blanco has not been in good form recently. It’ll be tough, and I could see the Galaxy picking up three points on the road.
Chicago 2-4 Los Angeles

The Fire do still have the best defensive record in the league despite the last game, so it’s a stretch to say Busch has been left out to dry a number of times…
I predict a frustrating 1-1 draw.
