If the situation were reversed, and the soccer game I was watching ran into the time slot for some sport I didn't care about...well I wouldn't care about it. What really bugged me was looking at the other TV in the pub and seeing a 30 year old boxing match on ESPN Classic. They should have put the MLS match on Classic or ESPNews until the ladies' bball game was over. @bluemeanies: I thought the exact same thing. If an MLS playoff game went to OT and penalties the game after that would be pre-empted and the fans of college football/golf/poker/womens water polo would be cursing out how something as insignificant as soccer could pre-empt them. Three overtimes for a mid season WNBA game shows the folly of mainstream american sports aversion to the tie game, but not ESPN's decision making however much it irks.
