Oh Boy! It’s the SuperDraft

I’m giddy like a kid on Christmas morning. Today is everyone’s favorite soccer-related event of the season: the 2009 MLS SuperDraft! And no, while I have something that resembles a job and can’t liveblog the event, for your reading pleasure I have scoured the Internets, in search of the most comprehensive and indepth coverage of the event. Look no further than this page, and I’ll point you to the Internet hotspots that are providing some semblance of news related to the SuperDraft. Here’s a look at the different sites and what they are saying, basically all you need to know before your team steps up

• The 3rd Degree is heating up, ranking the defenders, goalkeepers, forwards, and midfielders. Talk about a glut of information. Too much for my taste.
• Steve Davies at the official MLS gives us a look at what might happen at 2 PM.
• Want to look at a mock draft? There’s one here, here, here, and over there. Only one thing for certain about them – they’ll be wrong. I love mock drafts.

There is a lot more out there, even though it may not be as much as I thought. Not surprising, considering the amount of press MLS typically gets. It seems like a scarcity of information located at just a few sites.

A full breakdown of the draft may or not be up later this weekend. What’s clear is that there are 60 players about to get a chance at making an MLS roster. A pretty big deal for those who have spent countless hours on the pitch, trying to make their dreams come true. Best of luck to them, and be sure to tune in at 2:00 EST on ESPN2, nonetheless.
