MLS Cup Final 2008 Live Blog – New York Red Bull v Columbus Crew
By: travis | November 23rd, 2008It’s judgment day folks. Make sure to stick around and take part in this live blog – I’m going to be around to start things off at 3 PM (at least I hope to be). I have to be in transit right before then so things might be late. Look for starting lineups close to kick off.
Current Score:
Columbus Crew 3-1 New York Red Bulls
31′ Moreno ……………………………. 51′ Wolyniec
53′ Marshall
82′ Hejduk

Schelotto looks for a foul when a defender breathes on him.
There are definite pluses and minuses when you have S. American players.

And why do I find the motto, “Every season starts at Dick’s” funnier every time I hear it?

Who’s thinking Jimenez is going to get subbed out?

I’m amazed at the empty seats at the HDC. Had I known, I might have gone myself.

Yeah, me too. If I could afford the trans-country flight.

now, watching the game on tv, I wished I would have gone. I’ve never been a fan fan of the MLS, but I’ve always sympathized with the LA Galaxy but they suck too much. Whoever loses this game will be my new team. I will bleed for them.

Yeah, pretty good experience I guess. Still really hard to take. At least they were the underdogs going in. It was already a tough game for them going in. Dave must have known that.

Hey guys. Waiting at the airport for my flight back to SFO. I was with Dave & his bro at the game. While we’re bummed the Red Bulls lost, heaps of Red Bulls fans came out (they’re all over the airport). Prolly the most fun for my trip was watching bike jousting put on by the Galaxy Riot Squad where Red Bulls & Chivas fans partcipated. Tacos & beers in the park down the st after the mediocre game made it all worthwhile.

Congrats to the Crew — they were the best team this year and they beat my Chicago Fire in the Semi’s. Check out the Fire’s Diego Gutierrez’ post-game blog on the season and the loss at http://www.fanfuego.com, the social network where athletes connect directly with their fans
