Major League Links, 04.04 - Post-Primetime Double-Dip
By: Jeff | April 4th, 2008As all y’all know, MLS aired a couple games nation-wide last night. Enjoy the chatter from The Offside’s team blogs:
- I think it’s fair to say Chicago v. New England raised eyebrows the highest. Celebrate the occasion with Sean from the Chicago Offside or empathize with the Revolution Offside’s Dan.
- The night-cap featured an at-last competent LA Galaxy edging a punchless San Jose side. It took the San Jose Offside’s Melissa two posts to get over her club’s first loss - and that second one contains some useful advice for Earthquake forwards…do your homework, fellas. Meanwhile, the LA Offside’s Jen squeezed all the joy and gloating (hey…it’s healthy) into one big post…well, except video for the first goal (Beckham’s, natch), that is.
- Turning now to the games ahead, oh, there is plenty. Alex, from Chivas USA’s Offside, covers who is likely to line up for his side this weekend against Real Salt Lake - or, more accurately, who injury will likely keep away. Fitz, from the RSL Offside, gives his side’s line-up for the same. The Rapids Offside’s Jeff, who feels a little off his game, invents the preview as sleep-aid to prepare Colorado fans for the bus ride to Kansas City.
- As most of you no doubt know, the MLS Players Union released salary numbers earlier today and a couple team blogs picked through the numbers: Fitz gave RSL’s the once over, while Jeff, negative creep he is, only mentioned the Rapids salaries he didn’t get.
- Finally, Red Bull Offside’s Dave M pulls a subtly fast one: with some teams already two games into the season, he posted his 2008 season preview for Red Bull New York. The neat trick? It only seems late: it’s just in time for the start of Red Bull’s season.
Have a good weekend.

Rapid fans I found this great little website sportzu.tv that has tons on interviews with players and coaches. The players give tips on ball skills to how a goalie should catch the ball told by the Rapids starting goal keeper Bouna Coundoul.
